Deploying a new operating system (OS) is a very large and possibly costly undertaking. To reduce the cost of this type of deployment you will learn how it can be automated. This section quickily details the planning phase of OS deployment.

2. Configuring the Required Infrastructure
For ViaMonstra, preparation for the deployment of an operating system in ConfigMgr, will require a few infrastructure planning things that have to be done such as creating user accounts, configuring site system roles, and intergrating with Microsoft Deployment Tookkit (MDT).

3. Creating a Custom WIM Image
You have the necessary files in place now to create a custom Windows 8.1 Update 1 image. This task will review image types and then create a custom image and deployment task sequences.
