What is business, really? By the end of this Learning Plan, you should understand what business is about and why businesses have always been a crucial factor in determining the occupations, wealth, morality, and culture of people and society. To be sure companies are in business to make profits, a return for their investors.  People have struggled over centuries to obtain scarce resources such as food, clothing, shelter, land, and money to improve the lives of those they care about.  Businesses have always centered on the quest to obtain capital, wealth, and the power and influence that goes with them.
