THE WISCONSIN TECHNICAL COLLEGE FACULTY QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM

Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) is the process of providing qualification documentation required by the Wisconsin Technical College System Board. The Faculty Quality Assurance System process begins after you are hired at one of the 16 technical colleges. Faculty Quality Assurance System is required for instructors.

The length of time to complete the Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements depends on whether you are full-time or part-time. Initial Faculty Quality Assurance System for full time is for three years, but additional coursework is required to renew your certification, depending on the type of position for which you were hired.

Faculty Quality Assurance System Learning Activities at Northcentral Technical College are offered as competency-based courses. They are "Pass"/"Fail", not letter grades.  The Faculty Quality Assurance System courses are online, independent study. Faculty Quality Assurance System courses are also offered face to face occasionally. Courses must be completed within the semester in which you are enrolled.

When a Faculty Quality Assurance System course is finished, a certificate of completion is provided to the student to show course competencies have been fulfilled.

Credit for Prior Learning is reviewed and in some cases may be accepted as fulfilling course competencies. Credit for Prior Learning is reviewed by course faculty.
