1.2.6 Database Naming Conventions
Conventions are rules for naming things that are usually best practices put in place by an organization. Oftentimes, organizations will have different naming conventions.
Here are the naming conventions that we will follow at NTC:
- Use Pascal Case for namings. Pascal Case has no spaces or underscores and capitalizes each word. Ex: BookGenreDetail
- Use singular names.
- Pick meaningful names.
- Give names context.
- Avoid symbols and non-alphanumeric characters such as _ - * /
- Avoid identifiers. Ex: class, function, string.
- Avoid abbreviations.
