Overview/Purpose

In both Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (CUCME) and Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) environments, phones need to connect to the network to receive services such as IP addresses from DHCP, VLAN assignments for voice traffic, IP information on where to register, and Network Time Protocol (NTP) packets. This learning plan focuses on establishing these services.

Target Competencies:

Explore the concepts of Cisco IP Phones and how they become registered on the network.
Explore the management of Cisco IP Phones using Cisco management software.
